How a tree felling job is carried out
Every fell starts with a look at the tree and the ground around it. Height, lean, decay, what sits underneath, and how much room there is to drop it. From that we decide whether the tree comes down in one piece or in sections, lowered on ropes. Timberwood has been felling trees across Surrey for over 25 years, on everything from a single garden conifer to large mature trees on commercial ground. You get a written quote before anyone starts, and a risk assessment on request, so you know the method and the price in advance.
Felling trees close to buildings and boundaries
Most trees people want removed are not standing in open space. They are up against a fence, over a conservatory, or leaning towards a neighbour's roof. Those come down in sections, cut and lowered piece by piece rather than dropped in one. Storm damaged and fallen trees are handled the same way, and emergency tree work is available when a tree has already come down or is unsafe to leave standing. If the stump needs to go as well, it can be ground out afterwards rather than left sitting in the lawn.

Rob Sheppard studied Landscaping and Arboriculture at Merrist Wood College and holds National Certificates in both. The same standard applies on a domestic garden and a commercial site. Cover runs to £10 million public liability, £10 million employer's liability and £10 million product liability, with a written risk assessment available on request. That matters most when a tree stands close to a house, a boundary or a road, because it is your property carrying the risk if the work is done by someone uninsured.
